We have a “Meet & Greet” policy – so there should always be someone here to meet you on arrival and show you round the caravan, explaining facilities and utilities. In the event that we cannot be there or you will be particularly late in arriving we shall make arrangements for the keys to be available. Please let us know your travel arrangements and expected arrival time – thank you.
It’s easiest to park behind or beside the caravan rather than in front of it due to the layout of the ground.
The nearest general store is in Lochinver, about 3.5 miles away. There is a post office, a fabulous pie shop/restaurant, a newsagent and an excellent tourist information office which includes the local ranger service. The bank is in the village and there is an excellent fish ‘n’ chip shop and Chandlery round by the harbour.
In the unlikely event of a power cut, a battery torch is provided.
There is a wide selection of useful information in the caravan, from coffee-table books to local maps and flyers. The Tourist Information Centre (TIC) is in Lochinver.
Please leave the caravan in a reasonable condition when you leave!
There is a fully equipped kitchen in the caravan. There is also a barbeque under the caravan for your use – please make sure you don’t burn the grass under the BBQ when you use it – put it on a piece of wood or a stone or a pile of sand to protect the grass. Thanks.
Electricity is supplied through a card meter in the cupboard in the lounge area. We always put in £5.00 worth of cards for you on arrival and it is unlikely you will have to use more than this during your stay. However, if you need to buy some cards you can get them from the house at the gate by the entrance to the site.
Gas is supplied free of charge for the duration of your stay. It is switched on for your arrival and you should not have to do anything else to it. In the unlikely event of one of the 2 gas canisters running out, just change the feed pipe from one canister to the other.
Hot water arrives on demand – ie just turn on the hot tap or the shower and the boiler will click into life and produce plenty of hot water within about one minute.
The top of the cooker is fairly self explanatory and works just like a standard gas cooker. To light the oven, you need to press the gas feed button in while simultaneously igniting the gas line at the back of the oven.
There are some wetsuits of various sizes (in various states of repair!) in the caravan for your and kids’ use – please just make sure they are dried out after use. There is a bodyboard in the cupboard, a set of boules on the shelf by the lounge door and some indoor games such as monopoly for those rainy days!
There is one on the double bed! Please use it to warm the bed only and be sure to turn it off before going to sleep.
Follow the main road towards Lochinver and then turn right half a mile before Lochinver. Follow this road for approximately 3 miles to Clachtoll. The caravan is on a private site on the left hand side of the road in the village, signposted “caravan site”. Turn left here and then immediately right again through the closed gate into our caravan site. Seabreeze Caravan is 6th on the left.
Enjoy a fabulous caravan holiday in Clachtoll. No rules, no worries, no traffic. Freedom of the open beach. Waves, surfing, body-boarding, swimming, paddling, canoeing, barbeques, music, freedom.....freedom......freedom
